There's something pretty great about catching up with friends over baked goods. Even better, baking together. The other day my friend and I ambitiously set out to bake 5 different things. Needless to say it stopped at 3. Within the span of three to four hours we had made 2 apple pies, a mountain high of oatmeal raisin cookies and baked spaghetti (that was dinner).

Recipes I recommend you try:
Smitten Kitchen's Raspberry Buttermilk Cake - Super simple to make. It's a good pick-me-up tea cake. Only thing is I used less sugar just cause I don't have a particularly sweet tooth.

Martha Stewart's Cream Cheese Pound Cake  - This cake hits the spot for me. Again not too complicated to make, and its the perfect balance between sweetness and tang (from the cream cheese). Try them out and let me know what you think. :)

What're some of your favourite things to bake?

After much work, spending an unfortunate amount of time deliberating over design and website ideas, I’ve got a proper website up and running. Click! For those who know me, I’m not the best when it comes to tech-y related things. So when I tried learning some basic principles of Illustrator, that brought its own set of challenges. However, after countless evenings of bubbletea and Youtube tutorials, I managed to create a vector. Hurrah. But really, I need to thank my amazing friends Bea & Su who have been more than helpful and supportive throughout this process.

As for other things I had been working on - jewellery wise - I've got some new pieces up online. Finally! In anticipation for Spring and all its glory, here's a colour palette I've been messing with.

Below is the Arielle bracelet. Made with Peranakan beads I got during my last trip to Singapore, I love the bold colours and sweet floral detailing (such a sucker for floral).

After having spent the last year or so living between Singapore and Vancouver, I've managed to get settled (at least for now) and can focus on getting the ball rolling again. Less website and branding tweaking from here onward. I hope. Here's to sunnier and warmer weather heading our way! :)
